Modern Slavery and Speak-Up Policy
This policy sets out VRpatients’ zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. It explains how we prevent modern slavery in our business and supply chain.
Policy Statement
Modern slavery is a crime and a serious violation of human rights. It includes:
- slavery, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour
- bonded or debt labour
- child labour
- human trafficking
What these have in common is that people are deprived of their freedom so that someone else can exploit them.
VRpatients will not tolerate modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain. We will act ethically and with integrity in our business relationships, and we will take proportionate steps to identify, prevent and address modern slavery risks.
If Modern Slavery is Identified:
If we find, or reasonably suspect, modern slavery in our business or supply chain, we will:
- Put the safety and wellbeing of the people affected first.
- Report it to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
- Work with the supplier to put things right where that is possible and safe.
- End the relationship if the supplier won’t put things right, or if the breach is serious.
- Record what happened and what we learned, and update this policy and the risk register.
Carbon Reduction Plan
VRpatients is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
Completed carbon reduction initiatives:
- Remote-first operations. Our whole workforce works remotely. This removes emissions from commuting and from running office premises.
- Virtual meetings by default. We use video conferencing for internal collaboration, customer meetings, product demonstrations and training wherever possible, instead of travelling.
- Cloud hosting. Our platform runs on cloud infrastructure rather than on-premises servers, which avoids the energy use of running and cooling our own hardware.
- Digital product delivery. Our products are delivered entirely digitally, with no manufacturing, packaging or physical distribution.
- Equipment reuse and recycling. Company equipment is reused where possible and recycled responsibly at end of life.
Future carbon reduction initiatives:
- tracking business travel emissions systematically, so that future reporting is based on complete data
- a travel policy that favours virtual alternatives and combines customer visits and trade shows into single trips
- choosing a central, accessible location for our annual summit to minimise total travel
- assessing whether to include home-working emissions in future reporting
